Okay, I know this sounds really weird, but it works better than any allergy eyedrops I've ever used: put a dap of mentholatum under each eye. Your eyes will water a bunch and it will sting, but that's because it's an irritant (do not get it IN your eye!). After a few minutes your eyes should be feeling better, and the mentholatum leaves behind a nice cooling effect. My husband taught this to me as I get rather heinous eye allergies and can go through a ton of eye drops. This is the only thing that really works for me. Also take a Benadryl (or any kind of antihistamine). That will help combat the allergy as well. Hoped this helped!

There must be something in the air the last few days. I live in the mid-west and am having the same problem. Just wash them gently and avoid the wind.

I already take a lot of allergy medicine and have the same effects from the air now so this is all I can do until what ever is in the air dissipates.

Avoid smoke, hairspray, nail salons, dust and other irriitants. Use a mild OTC eyewash. Apply cold compresses or chilled herbal eye pads. Borrow a cucumber from your salad and take a five minute rest with a slice on each eye, Chill a used tea bag, make that two, and it should do the trick.
