I really made a big mistake...and it has hurt my relationship with my best friend/boyfriend who I love more than anything. I need to figure out something that can help him feel loved again and help him realize how much I care for him. Any advice would be great.

prevention is the best advice I can give.
You just cannot take something back and really is damaging to a relationship. Try to think before you speak next time.
As for fixing this, it all depends on him. You can only ask for forgiveness and apologize. Hope he will be understanding.

It is very important that you try to apologize to him. Tell him why you said what you said and that it came out wrongly.Tell him that you love and appreciate him and would not know what to do without him. Try not to be pushy if he does not want to accept the apology at the moment, maybe he needs time to think things through and to recollect. DO NOT START AN ARGUMENT! The worst thing to do right now to make the situation more heated and intense. If you try to explain and apologize and he gets more furious, walk away and say nothing more. Later on you can go and finish the conversation nicely and sweetly.

if u want him 2 forgive u . u send him a gift and give a letter or call him and u take him out to dinner or dinner and a movie and just keep on saying that u r sorry for what u said and tell him that you did not mean to say that and say that u was not thinking at the time and u wish u culd take every thing u said back and just make the night to be his night kinda of like a peace offering and just tell him how much u love him and most likely he will for give u good luck

since it happened just awhile ago.. dont push too much, but dont ignore the situation also. the best thing to do, send him a note or sms or an email (whatever suits you) just informing him you're sorry and that you'll wait until he's ready to talk to you atleast to give you a chance to straighten things out.
Things you should do/avoid while talking to him...
1) Avoid explaning yourself too much
2) Listen to what he is going to say
3) Dont justify your mistake
4) Make a promise/ deal with him that the situation won't be repeated again or otherwise.. (you'll face the consequences)
5) Show him you are sincere (if he sees your sincerity, 95% he'll accept your apology)
REMEMBER:
Don't push, if he's not willing to talk as much as you do, just wait for his time. As you've said, he's hurting so you have to be patient until he's ready.

tell him how much he means to you and how the last thing you want to do it hurt him and how many great things there are about him that you truly appreciate-- be as genuine as possible...
i've had ppl i love say things to me that really hurt me but when they just gave a quick apology i still deep down inside was hurt by it, bc u can't erase those words and it had me feeling that what they said is what they really meant and think of me.
but if the person would sit down and tell me how much i mean and spill their heart out to me and show me that they didn't want to hurt me and i mean more to them than that comment bc there are so many wonderful things that they love about me, well then it would no longer matter if that bothered me bc its insignificant compared to the amount of love they expressed.

Just tell him that you are truely sorry!! and that you love him sooooo much!! and give him a little gift! that should def. give him the message. If it doesnt work..HE ISNT WORTH IT!!
