the average weight a a woman 5 foot tall is 100 pounds. Then you add 5 pounds for every inch after that.
Example the average female who is 5' 3'' weighs about 115 pounds.
i struggled with weight at your age too. DON'T DIET. I did and i stunted my growth. i was suppose to be 5'11'' but since i diet all through adolescence i am only 5'4''. I regret it very much. Being a teenage is tough but it is also great. Trust me. you are at a skinny weight.
i hope the next few years of your life are spent having fun and not worrying about weight.
Good luck and best of wishes.

I think you ar a perfect weight for a 22 year old. Being 13 you are a little softer and probably look bigger than a 22 year old. I don't think you should do anything different, because you need a little reserve to help you grow and develop more. You will probably get taller also. Your hips will get wider, not necessarily fatter and your shoulders broader. good luck with your life.

slim....but only you can determine how you feel about yourself if you dont like how you look go do sum crunches or buy a workout dvd or join the gym w/ a friend...but just b/c a friend tells you to lose weight doesnt mean you need to thats their opinion.

im 20 5'7 and i weigh 140 but the average weight for my height is 160 but at 140 there are still things i want to work on for myself.

my lil sister is 12 5'4 and weighs 200 lbs but shes over weight

love yourself for who you are and if you dont like something change it dont listen to someone elses opinion we're talking about Y-O-U! i hope you find this helpful

Does your friend suffer from a body image disorder like Anorexia? It's just it's not normal for someone to tell you that. Even at 13 years old, you should not weight that little. You should stay as you are, as you are already on the skinny side.

HTH : )

At 5' 3"..... I don't think you should try to lose any weight. Why would you care what your friend says?? It sounds to me like you have a really good figure. I don' think your mom is lying to you at all.
If you are unhappy with how your body looks...start working out to create a more sculptured look...this will actually cause your weight to go up a little. But you will actually look thinner. 85 - 90 pounds just isn't enough!!!

You're actually slightly underweight. Your friend is full of you know what. And your age has nothing whatsoever to do with your weight.

You are right about one thing, Low self esteem can and will make you question everything abut yourself, and that can include not being able to properly perceive your own body. This is something that can be very dangerous.

Talk with your school counsellor about find ways to help you develop your self esteem. It will benefit you throughout your life. (Your friend could use the same.)

100 lbs for a 5'3" woman is considered a healthy weight. You don't need to lose wieght, but if you feel your body isn't all it should be, then start working out and get toned up.

You shouldn't worry - you're 13. You're body is still working itself out and will be for a number of years yet. As long as you know you eat healthily and exercise you don't have anything to worry about.

If you're still concerned, work out your Body Mass Index (BMI) and you will then have an idea if you're underweight.

Bottom line, if you're happy - stay happy :O)

5' tall = 100 lbs., add 5 lbs for each inch above that. You can also give or take 5-10 lbs.
