You need to take a blood test. HIV is the virus which causes AIDS. There is no way of telling that early. Get a blood test!

Listen, you don't know that the guy of the girl you slept with has HIV. You also don't know that the girl got HIV. So, you don't know for sure that you got HIV. If this happened 6 or more months ago, then now would be the perfect time to get tested. I'm hoping, for your sake, that it comes up negative. But, and this is a big BUT, if it comes up positive, there are tons of medications out there that control this disease. So, you stand a fighting chance. There is no reason to commit suicide over this. It is NOT a death sentence. If you fight this and get tested right now, then you'll be fine. HIV doesn't always present symptoms, so the only way to know is to get tested. I hope that you get out of this okay and HIV negative, so, good luck.

P.S. just because your girl comes up positive doesn't mean that you'll be positive, too. There have been cases when one partner was positive, but the other wasn't. So, you definitely have a chance. Don't give up! People survive HIV without any medication for up to 15 years and don't get AIDS, if you get meds, imagine how long and healthy your life can be!

Ronald, you can have HIV for years without showing symptoms. Also, there is a chance that you didn't get it even if your friends have it. What is most important is for you to go and get an HIV test from the doctor so you can know if you have the virus. If you do have it then the doctor will be able to talk to you about ways to treat the disease. Whether or not you are sick, you need to start getting serious about using condoms to protect yourself and others. It's going to be okay. Use this opportunity to start making better decisions. Good luck.

There's nothing you can do at the moment to find "symptoms" of HIV or AIDS. Just relax. You should go have yourself tested, and don't rely soley on your ex-girls results.

Get tested, and in the future be more careful about having casual sex. Maybe you should slow down, and just be with one partner that you care about and trust, to spare yourself this stress in the future.

In the meantime, just relax. There's not point in worrying about it right now, to the point of severe anxiety and the thoughts of suicide. It's got going to make things any better. Find somthing to do to get your mind off it. Write a short story or a poem or something creative. Use all the energy you've got build up inside right now and do something creative with it.

I wish you the best!

There are no signs. A test may not even show up as positive until 6 months or more after exposure. There may still be a chance that you are not positive if she is, you need to get tested yourself. I have even seen home kits behind the counter in pharmacies. Getting him tested would give you the best answer.

Being with a HIV positive person doesn't obligatory mean you are positive too. In fact, there are rather good chances you are not (or half of the world would be dead so far). Better do the blood test immediately and spare your nerves.

The aids virus can stay dormant in your system for up to ten years with no signs or symptoms... go to you local family planning center and get an std scan its where they scan your blood for all types of stds if you have no income it is free if you have income it is generally $25 that way you'll know if you have anything at all...... good luck and remember wrap it or whack it....just always be safe.

go call the suicide hotline if you are thinking about suicide.

life's too short, live if out as long as you can.

To keep you're mind off of things, try going somewhere that you get amused easily; mall, amusement park, playing video games, etc.

good luck and i'll pray for you.
