Iv'e known this girl for almost over a year now. And we have grown to be very close friends. We have great conversations on the phone .Not to long ago Ive heard that she likes me and also liked me in the past too. But the weird thing is she doesn't act like it. I would had never found out if my friend me and other people never told me. Even to break the ice between us I told her that I like her. But she told me it was best for us to wait until we get out of school (just to let u all know where both seniors). When we are out she acts distant towards me. Like sometimes I might try to start a conversation but she gives open ended answers, and also sometimes when we are out she will sit away from me instead of next to me. And I know she isn't a shy girl because she is very outgoing. So what is the problem? Why do girls act so distant towards guys they like?

Women tend to get distant from guys they like because they dont want to go through the stage of be hurt by that guy once they have become close.

There could be soooo many reasons for her actions. have a serious convo with her, tell her how you feel and that you need to know how she feels....or, start treating her as if you've moved on and see what her response is....there are so many different ways you can handle this, guys have it harder than woman when it comes to dating, so I feel for you. She probably just feels as if she doesnt want to give in to much and be too vulnerable, which isnt fair to you. Maybe shes been hurt before, who knows....good luck and if she doesnt catch on soon, then move on....best of luck...

am very out going and when i like the guy i would do the same thing...why? there are never answers to girls thinking u should know that by now

She might just think that it is ackward and strange that you told her stright up front that you liked her. Just give it some time. But if it is too much time just tell her what is the matter. Although us girls can be very shy.

It may be that she doesn't want to scare you away by coming on too strong. When we like a guy, we REALLY like him. So we can be a bit overwhelming when we express it. I know I'm always afraid of doing that. And please do not do what someone has suggested--avoid her. That is the worst possible thing you can do.

a lot of times because they are afraid of rejection, they are waiting for you to make the first move, just saying that you like her doesnt count ask her out on a date, show her that you like her, it is hard to over come the fear of looking stupid.

afraid of a committment or just playing hard to get ??? solution--- start sort of avoiding her in dif. ways..curiousity will get the best of her,she will break down and ask what the problem is?? you jokingly say --well you started it.. both your true feelings will then come out !!! good luck.
