I have always wanted to be a Doctor . I dropped out of High School at 16 and got my GED at 17. I am very smart with medicine and come from a medical background. Is it possible to get into Med. School. If so how ? I really would like to find out. Thanks Everyone.

all you need to do is believe in yourself

I suggest you get down to your nearest college or university and make an appointment with a guidance counselor. They will most likely want to test you to see where your intelligence level is, so I you better show your stuff.

If this is really your path, and it sounds like it just may be, given what you've said. Work hard, focus on what you are doing, what your goal is and do it.

Remember one thing; it isn't about the book learning that makes you a great doctor, it's how you treat your patients...remember they are human. They aren't stupid. They aren't experiements. Don't become a drug whore. In fact, be smart and look into eastern medicine and combine western and eastern...you will be very successful doing that. Some of the best doctors are doing this.

Good luck, go for it!

I see your future with science, in mechanics and some magnetism. However if one is to believe in alternate universes (and I do) you are to become in other places of origin and commerce a doctor, a constructor and a mechanic. Go for chemistry as well, we have a life working together in Arabia, some three weeks from now. Tough luck kiddo, smartest people on the planet are running numbers instead of feromones.
Have a nice day.

To go to medical school, you have to go to college for 4 years and graduate with a BS. Then you begin 4 years of medical school . When you graduate from 4 th year medical school you will be an M.D. and begin internship at a hospital you apply to. After one year internship, you will have to go into some chosen residency program....again applied for. To get into medical school, you will have to have outstanding grades...be in the top of your class. Can you do all of this? 8 years of college does not come cheaply. We are talking thousands and thousands of dollars.

the best way for you is to go to junior college and then transfer to a university. the first two years are the same in any college and the majority of people are able to tranfer with no problems. just do really good in school and i don't see why you can't succeed.
