The parents got there the same way the kids are heading. It's a vicious cycle. But it happens in all religions and it takes a very smart kid to be able to think for themselves.

Its just like growing up an Atheists' child. You might have a foundation that influences you but you still come to your own conclusions.
I actually was raised Christian and by the time I was 17 ran half way across the country to get away from those "lunes" as I put it in those days.
However with maturity and knowledge I began to look at my life and where it was headed and where it could have been if not for God keeping that string on me and not leaving me.
I thank God today that my parents raised me Christian b/c maybe all those years later I would not have heard what was already growing as a seed from the start.
God Bless

I believe the word is "informed". The children of parents of any religion that needs to insult other religions are the ones that are brainwashed. The children of athiests and agnostics are probably better off.

Are children of Atheist brainwashed?
Are children of Islam brainwashed?
Are children of Buddhism brainwashed?
Are children of Wicca brainwashed?
Are children of Hinduism brainwashed?
the list goes on...........
I grew up in a Christian home, but I was not brainwashed at all. My parents nor grandparents MADE me attend Sunday school or sit and listen to the preacher preach.
Cult style religions are the ones that brainwash their children. Were you brainwashed?

That may be a matter of interpretation, but I certainly think they have a huge cultural advantage if they are familiar with the Bible and all of its stories. Just think of the huge number of references in literature and art to Biblical stories. I can't believe the number of people I've met who don't know who Ruth and Naomi are or why Jonah was swallowed by a huge fish. It's just part of the heritage of the English-speaking world.
As for the belief system, it's something they may accept or reject as they grow up, but can certainly be a comfort. It depends on the Christian/"Christian" teaching they receive.

No. I have found, that most childeren go through a time of falling out, and come back to christianity after realizing that their sunday school teachers were right. this shows that they can think on their own after being "brainwashed".

If training a newborn the make certain's values is brainwashing, then i imagine you want to enhance your attitude. because then, training children some thing will be seen brainwashing. besides the undeniable fact that for sure, what you're suggesting is already a highly undemanding attitude to elevating children. besides the undeniable fact that for sure the 'mom and father' in such circumstances are seen as entitled self-absorbed morons and their children as brats. so some distance as strict mom and father, again you want to enhance your attitude. There are strict mom and father who stress their beliefs onto children everywhere. Vegans, militia, organization, athletes. once you're going to experience sorry for children of Christian mom and father in such circumstances, then experience sorry for all children in such circumstances. so some distance as circumcision, it grow to be first inspired again in the former days at the same time as hygiene grow to be a very overseas note to maximum persons. i does no longer be shocked if again then it easily grow to be functional, a minimum of marginally. i am going to agree that that is one in each and every of those issues that needs to seize as a lot as well-known situations and basically die out.

Speaking as an Ex christian, I can attest to this as a resounding Yes, I was emotionally abused by my mother and father, because they raised me christian, they love saying thats all we know, yet they couldve at least told me the darker side of christianity, so i would know what really went on with it.

I suppose some are, what would you consider 'brainwashing'? Is it Christianity itself? I suppose you would take the right to raise their children as they see right?

Parents vaccinate their kids because they want to protect them from unnecessary sickness and pain. They instill religion in their kids for the same reason. Is it brainwashing to tell your kids you have to do such and such to stay healthy? I mean if you tell your kids drink soy milk, eat wheat germ, and tofu, and listen to the dead are you brainwashing them to be dirty hippies?
