When my daughter started preschool at 4 years old, she started getting what seems like the stomach flu at least a dozen times every winter. This is the fourth year in a row we have dealt with it. It starts out with her throwing up and then a couple of days of dry heaves or just yellow bile (sorry for the graphic description). She is kind of a thin girl anyway so even losing a pound or two is not good for her. Also she missed about 20 days of school last year and the school is strict about attendance. In fact they even send me letters saying they could take me to court over the amount of days she has missed. I've asked three different pediatricians about this and the first pediatrician even did some tests (x rays) of her intestines and bowels. Her intestines are fine; no obstructions or nothing unusual was found in those tests. I've thought of allergies, or possibly acid reflux but no one seems to have a definite answer. Does anyone else have a child with a similar problem?

You might consider taking her to a pediatric gastroenterologist. Children share so many bugs that it may just be kid-bugs that causes the first bout of vomiting (or food poisoning). The subsequent bile-vomit might just be because she doesn't have anything in her stomach. She should be tested for allergies also. You can do an elimination diet to help determine if she has a food allergy/intolerance.

I'm surprised she has not been referred to a GI Dr. yet. Its possible she has developed an allergy to a food, possibly lactose intolerant since that is most common. Get her in to see a GI Dr.

You need to see another doctor and get them to do blood tests. It sounds to me like her immune system isn't as strong as it should be. Get a second opinion and make sure they do blood tests.

i agree with Lauren.. get your kid blood tests. it maybe related to blood prombles or something but make sure they running the tests twice because equiments that are old sometimes make mistake or can not let you see wat going on with that patient.
