Heck no!!! ER vet now!! I won't guarantee my pups if they are taken to a certain vet. This vet, has lost 5 dogs over the years that I know of that he has neutered. They were sent home and dead the next day from bleeding out. He is a large animal vet and does not have any business treating small animals. He does not tie the cords off when neutering a dog.

No this is not normal!! Nothing is done with the bladder when a dog is neutered, If the vet kept your dog overnight (which my vet always did) and your dog refused to urinate, it's possible that he could have contracted a urinary infection from just not urinating or having liquids. I'd call your vet first, see if you could bring them a urinary specium or do they want to see him? If he is given medicine, make sure you give the dog all of it.

It is NEVER normal for a dog to urinate blood
Blood in urine of male dogs usually indicated urinary/bladder stones and this need to be seen to immediately!

hannie m is RIGHT! Take him to an emergency clinic NOW!
He's bleeding internally!
You are just seeing a small amount of the whole picture.
He's bleeding out and you can't see it because it's inside. He could be dead by morning. REALLY!
Go now!
