3.78541 liters = 1 U.S. gallon
4.54609 liters = 1 U.K. gallon
1 litre = 33.81411 US fluid ounces
1 litre = 35.19508 UK fluid ounces
That should make everything perfectly clear!

For the imperial gallon (the UK uses this one and it is the old Canadian system) there are 4.8 Litres

For the imperial system with an ounce being 30 ml
10 oz in a cup 20oz pint 40oz quart 160oz gallon
160X30=4800 mls 4.8 L
For the US system 30 mls being an ounce

8 oz in a cup 16 oz pint 32 oz quart 128 oz gallon
128X30=3840 mls
and that = 3.84 Litres
