quicktime is a good program to have.
you'll come acrossed it later when your surfing the net..

i say install it & forget about it.

You dont, Flash is made by Macromedia and Quicktime is made by Apple. You only need Flash player to watch your flash files.

flash views flash files.
quicktime views quicktime files.
If you need to view quicktime files, you need quicktime

They both use different formats. It's the same as asking why you need Windows Media Player, when you have Real Player.

They are both separate companys providing separate products for different file formats.

Sometimes a .SWF file will point to a .QT or .MOV file... that's the only reason I can think of, really.
