Today is my birthday and I wished him a happy one on his and was hoping he'd do the same. Although our last "split" was not amicable; I'd written mean comments to him.
Is it too much to expect?

Thank you to the nice responses and birthday greetings. I got a laugh out of the comment "You really like yourself, don't you?" Haha.
Actually, no. I'm still in love with him so that's why.

You should not by expecting it from him or anyone else for that matter. As I have been told, Move On!!!! If he doesn't then he has moved on. Don't know your age, but you should be having fun it is your special day. Life is too short waiting for old flames, make some new ones.

yes and no, yes so that, ur x bf can make u glad, no because expecting 2 much will also make u so unconcious, if u xpect 2 much then he didnt greet u, u will feel to much down and heart-broken ex. u hav been thrown from a 5th floor building to the ground.!!, but if he does, you should be happy, bcoz even f he is an x bf, he still cares for you, and that can lead in real LOVE..!!

Yes that's too much to expect! Exes are and should be... the past. You obviously care nothing for the guy and just want the ego boost of thinking he still cares for you. Move on and let him do the same!

Happy Birthday! Whenever me and my ex would break up, he'd always text me a "happy (whatever holiday it is)". Even this guy that dumped me for his ex who I never thought I'd hear from again texted me Happy Birthday last year. But then again his ex has the same birthday as I do...he's not dating her anymore...I wonder if he'll text me this year?
But anyway, if your ex is like the guys I've know, he'll text you. If he doesn't, move on & don't waste your time on him.

well if you guys split and are trying to move on, then this ex might want to get the relationship past him and not be held up on the future, but if he is a sweet guy he should definetly wish u a happy birthday

really is hard to say. both times me and my ex broke up we said words that were real real harsh but 5 month later we started talkin again and now we are pretty good friends he even got me a present for my bday. so it's 50/50 while it could happen try not to get your hopes up
but happybday to ya

A person is either and X or they're not. Sounds like you wan t it both ways, your cake and eat it too! If he's an X then he owes you nothing, birthday or otherwise.
