I contend worst ever....I'm tempted to go with Passion of the Christ, but I can't because I never watched it. I'll go with Rapture, starring Muriel Hemmingway.
For best.....I should take the classic Ten Commandments....but I won't. It's a tie between the first Prophecy...and Stigmata.

OH HELL!!! It was MIMI ROGERS. NOT MURIEL HEMINGWAY! I stand corrected....I always got them confused because they kinda look the same.

On the contrary, I found the Passion of the Christ to be one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. It was less a movie than an experience of Jesus. I did not like all the gore, I thought Mel Gibson overdid it, but I had some extraordinary reactions to this movie.
It's difficult to make a bible movie that isn't too heavy handed. Ben Hur doesn't really qualify as a biblical movie, but Jesus is one of the themes and I loved the way they integrated Him with the story. I also liked the mini series that was on TV a long time ago called Jesus of Nazareth. I thought it was well done.
I thought the Last Temptation of Christ was terrible.

Have a nice trip. The rapture is a total lie and was never part of God's plan. The theory was started by a woman who had a vision and then pastors took off with it as a prophesy. Even she said it sounded evil. She was dimented. As for the one who is left working in the field, that's exactly where God wants them until He returns because the false one comes first. Have you never read the parable of the sower? By the way, why would you ask for an answer to something and then tell us you already made up your mind before you posted it?

If Buddhism counts as a religion than the worst religious movie by far is Little Buddha, which starred Keanu Reeves as Siddhartha.
Life of Brian is the best.

Left Behind: The Movie.
Kirk Cameron, "acting"...was too much. And the special effects budget! It was "the end of the world" and they spent...hundreds!
For best movie, I'll go with "Stigmata" just because I love Billy Corgans soundtrack :)

i thought The Passion was one of the most disgusting movies i've seen in a long time. more gore than any Freddy Kruger movie and about as silly. i couldn't believe that people actually took their little children to see that faux snuff film. i like Satan's "mini me" tho. funny comic relief.
i think the original Jesus Christ Super Star was the most inspiring. i mean .. the creativity and the particular view points depicted was innovative (and controversial) at the time.
