Im not religious at all if you are then thats your choice but please dont bother me with your ideas. I have noticed that uber christians are just as forceful with their beliefs as the door knocking jahovas. thier common questions are "how did we get here", "why are we here" and "where do we go when we die".

Wow. I don't think we are considered the MOST ANNOYING. I know that some are bothered by our beliefs, and of course as everyone is an individual I know that some people Witness or not are pushy. I know that some people HATE the fact that we do not celebrate Christmas. Case in point my Mom explained her beliefs to a coworker who had a meltdown when my mom politely but firmly turned down invites to celebrate Christmas. We are people striving to follow the Bible. I think the fact that we, sometimes somewhat bluntly, explain why we will not do a certain act and back it up with the Bible hurts/annoys others. I personally am always embarrassed when someone tells me I did something wrong/made a mistake. I think seeing us not join in various activities really sticks people cause they know we do not participate because we feel it is wrong. When I talk with others I try to be unobtrusive. If I find the person does not want to talk I try to either end the conversation or if it is just they do not like the subject then maybe we can talk about something else.

Do we Witnesses think our religous beliefs are correct??? Sure, I would hope anyone who is commited to something, be it religion or really most anything would have faith that it was correct.

Barbra L says she knows 4 women who were Witnesses, were all molested, all became promiscuous, all became questionable mothers, etc. I love it when people say they know several people who ALL did this or ALL did that. I often wonder why it is that people seem to connect with several people who are promiscuous, etc. Do bad things happen??? Sure, all humans are immperfect and some act downright evil, that is why the Bible shows us the need to keep the congregation clean. Many complain about the practice of Disfellowshipping, but it is to protect against people who do vile things from harming others. As to the comment about scaring the Witnesses away with comments of being a Witch. While some people(myself included) are nervous around snakes, hearing someone say they have differing beliefs from my own is not something Scary as many have different views. IF we thought everyone was already like us we wouldn't feel a need to share our beliefs as everyone would have them.

Small But Fierce said we give other Christians a bad reputation. I really do not see how. We strive to follow the Bible. Any Christian does this(or at least should), there is nothing unChristian about politely sharing our beliefs.

wassupmang says we Twist the Gospel with Legaliese. Not quite sure what this vauge statement is supposed to mean, however I think it is part of the problem. Often when I see comments or complaints about us they are vauge and/or based on unproven rumors.

Raoul Duke says we have NO manners and do not respect the lives of ANYONE who lives differently. If this were true I would think we would be involved in politics and Wars. I personally try, and of course at times fail, to be polite and respectful of others. Do I agree with the choices others make??? Not always. Am I willing to share why I feel this way??? Sure. However disagreeing and disrespecting are 2 very different things.

Dane Spade claims to have been a Witness but proves this to be untrue. We do not think of heaven as a lottery. We do believe that 144,000 will be in heaven. The rest will be on the Earth. We do not feel that our deeds make us have a better chance at scoring puffy clouds. Who goes to heaven and who does not is Jehovah's business.

Heather is proof that many who complain about us do not know us. She says we changed Jesus' name. Wow this is news to me as I call him Jesus. No we are not after money, if that were the case I would have been kicked out YEARS ago as I do not have much and rarely contribute.

Sorry for the LOOOOONG answer. Hope this helps.

They aren't the only "annoying" religion. They just go door to door more; but they don't VOTE.

Millions of fundamentalists do vote, and some vote to take away rights and privileges from those who do not agree in their theology. They spew more hate than I have even seen from the JW.

And the Mormons, they have squadrons of healthy looking teenagers on bicycles roaming the world trying to evangelize and destroy the coffee and cola industry around the world. While someone better to look at, and less annoying than the JW, they too are more difficult to get away from than a summer cold.

AND, as far as really being annoying, try having a house, or a hotel room near a mosque!! Talk about annoying ! Five times a day hearing the chants broadcast at full volume.

Does this make you feel better??

There are a lot of annoying religions. Jehovah's witnesses aren't always annoying, you can talk with them. They don't know how to deal with talking in the hot tub but they do share their point of view. Like other religions, no amount of reason changes anyone's superstitions and everyone leaves the same as they came. Witnesses do leave tracts and if you solicit them and save them you can heat your house for a few days with the paper they leave.
I haven't heard Witnesses calling for war against Southern Baptists.
If you hang around here for a few hours you can meet some really annoying religious bigots.

Which would you rather have, a JW knocking on your door, or a Church of Christendom lobbying to change the laws you live by.

A knock at the door may be a bother, but at least they are not trying to force you to believe their way by law like other religions.

Having been one myself, I can tell you that they are in fact the most annoying religion. They have a self-assumed piety and arrogance that simply scrapes your skin off. They have many of the same beliefs as thousands of other sects and cults and religions. What makes them annoying is their smug acceptance that only the best people make it into heaven but they have a better shot at it if they can convince you to join them.

In that way, they are a pyramid scheme of a religion with a pre-determined lottery payoff to only 144,000 true believers. (Yes, that's right- Jehovah Witness's think of God's kingdom as some kind of Ponzi Scheme that only a lucky few can profit from.)

Worse, under that the scab-scrapping layer of annoying hides a rotten core of smiling child-molesters and their terribly unmedicated schizophrenic wives.

To say the most annoying barely describes them.

Jehova witness`s aren`t well liked by some because they come to your house, and don`t take no very well, they also have that little watch tower, which I have seen does not agree with scripture from the bible, they have their own beliefs, I dont agree with any of it, but they decided they would make a few changes, even after king james changed a wold bunch of crap many years ago, its all rubbish, jehova`s even changed jesus` name, but more to the point, Christians believe out solar system has been here only 6,000 years, science says 4 billion, i cant believe any of them. they are all after your money, catholic`s are too, but many of them are gay, directly against the rules in the bible, and they also like to molest your children, they supposedly work FOR god, if he exists, why are they still alive and working for him??? tell the jehovas you want to have sex with them, the pretty ones, that is, they usually leave pretty quickly, if you are uncomfortable saying that, ask them if you might peek at their naked breasts, they are pretty uncomfortable with that too, if you need further Asiatics, send an e mail.

They are the only true religion, they are following Jesus teachings and doing house to house to preach the Kingdom of God that very soon will replace the earthly ruled kingdoms that Satan is in the midst of it. Because of their love that anyone will get the knowledge and will not BE SUBJECTED to inevitable distractions in ARMAGEDDON.

I know four women who are Jehova's Witness Survivors.

Each one of them was molested as a child. Each one of them was blamed or told to keep quiet.

Each one of them eventually left the cult and became incredibly promiscuous.

Each one of them was a questionable mother in many respects.

Great testimonial HUH?

LOL to all of you wondering how to keep them from visiting again, I did it! We kept snakes as pets. One day I saw them coming to the door. I put on my SALEM MASS pentacle witch t shirt and wrapped my favourite snake around my neck. She obligingly wove into my long hair. When the knock came, I answered the door, said.. OMG I am so glad you are here! I am a witch! ... of course I glazed my eyes over a bit.

They never came back.

All religions have extremists. I am Agnostic and do not force my views on anyone. I agree believe what you want but don't force it on others.
