All things are passing away . We look around , but every thing you see will be changed in a instant , even our very selves . So why should we care about buying things and keeping things , when it all one day will be gone ? To be wordly is counter to seeking God , but to ignore the cares of the world may leave me broke and laboring all the rest of my life just to survive. Where to you make the consession?

One qualifying question for everything you asked:
Does it bring God glory? God doesn't get glory by you being a dead-beat, God's glory is not manifested if we are not concerned about the issues of the day. God's glory is not manifested if we get so concerned about the daily distractions of this life that we fail to build our faith, relationship and interactive Word with Him. God is a God of balance, truth, justice and relationship - in all your ways acknowledge Him and GIVE HIM GLORY in all that you do and in all that you are!

Observe the example of Paul the tent-maker. He paid his own way even while doing an enormous work for Christ. He knew what his priorities were and they were not about getting rich or living the easy life. Paul insisted everyone pay their own way. Every believer is instructed to be a doer of the Word not just a hearer. Be a servant of Christ not just a "pew potato". Some people serve by simply giving our Father praise and thanksgiving. This is good and acceptable service and is by no means a waste of time when offered sincerely from the heart. Others have some specific thing they are led to do beyond praise and thanksgiving.

So then it is a tall order to be a Christian but the rewards are real and true and ever so valuable.

The issues of the world are many and issues of justice are worthy of concern. Issues of self indulgence are not.

Well, for myself, I can tell you from experience that the bit about "Consider the birds of the air.." is actually right on. I took God up on that promise a long time ago, and He hasn't let me down yet. He usually waits until the very last moment before showing me what to do or how the situation will work out, and sometimes that is maddening, but He does always provide. Nothing extra, mind you - just enough, and just in time, and usually in a way that I never would have expected. Be responsible with what you get, and learn the ways of money early on (I recommend the book YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE) - but you're wise to remember, as you do, that it's all transitory!

It's not too hard. Just realize that it is all going to be destroyed anyway. There shall be a new heaven and a new earth. God will provide if you have faith in Him, just try not to live beyond your means.

It isn't gone yet. Just say tax cut and you can forget everything.
