There are other websites, too, if you do a search for "faux painting marble" and I have a great book that shows all different types of techniques that I bought. If you don't want to spend the money your local library probably has some books on faux painting techniques, too.

Very carefully. It depends what sort of wall this is and how exact you have to be. I once simulated this effect to create "marble" stairs and pillars for the set of the high school musical by painting the veins of colour on with watered down, water-based paint and then blending it with more water. It looked good from a distance. If you are trying this on your livingroom wall, however, you will want to either call a professional artist or else maybe try your hand at an airbrush. There may be some sponge techniques you can try too. It all depends on how exact you have to be, how artsy you are, and how much room for error you have in your budget, timeframe, and location. It's probably easier to use wallpaper if this is for a wall of a house, rather than some sort of mural.

First, you paint your wall the base color that you want. Then slightly use a paler color and wash the wall with this color using 1 part paint to 3 parts water. When it is dry, you take the color you want to use as the veins in the marble. Take a feather (you can buy them at the dollar store or any craft store). Dip the tip of the feather in the paint and paint veins on top of the base and wash color. I suggest you practice with the feather on cardboard first so you get the hang of it, but it's really quite easy to do.

I have never done that but have seen where paint stores and Home Depot give classes/instruction and demonstrations of different methods...so check with them.
