It depends on how dark your skin is. A light Amber can pretty much take any colour that isnt pale (pinks, yellows, white etc). These do not work because they are TRANSPARENT, meaning totally able to see the dark colour through. Darker skin can usually take purples, reds, magentas, blues, greens (strong dark colours). It really depends on how dark is dark, i worked on a guy who didnt tkae any colour well, but his mom who was the same colour took blues and purples great.
Dark skin is like tinted windows on a car. You might have ivory interior in the car but once you close the windows it doesnt look ivory anymore. Its never going to be bright bright unless you have a light skin tone.

There is much debate on this question. It depends on how dark your skin is. The darker you are, the denser the pigment is, and the harder it is for colors to show, even the lighter colors. The problem is that the skin pigmentation is dense and closer to the surface than the tattoo ink. However; this said, I've seen some spectacular tattoos on some very dark skinned people. I'd look around and find other black people who have good looking tattoos and find out where they got them. It takes an artist who is experienced in this field to do a really good job.

it depends on just how dark your skin is. i do know some black people who have colored tattoos but most don't. probably because the colors don't show up as well. you could always consult an artist but you may not be able to get something colorful that you'd be happy with.

ask your tattoo artist. i see most black people with tattoos that are colored in and u can barely see them so it depends on the skin color. my tattoo is only black so it will show up

the best answer is to ask your tattooist, however i do know that it is possible because i have a friend whose skin is so dark that he HAD to get a colored tattoo. it was green.. but you should decide what colors you would like, then consult with your tattooist and see what suggestions he/she has for your skin tone.
