Unfortunately, the history of this forum is such that Atheists have often been accused of not having a moral code. I guess that some of my fellow Atheists have gotten tired of denying the raping and pillaging that normally goes on in our temple.

Looks like some people just took the question the wrong way.. If I didn't know any better it would sound to me like the asker was implying that atheists had no morals.. It is just a matter of perception of the question is all. I'm sure I'd be somewhat rude to someone if I thought that they were implying I had no morals simply because I was not religious to.

If you saw just the first part of the question what would you think? Do you not know how many times atheists get told here alone that we have no morals? If people don't want to get attacked when they ask such questions then they should tell people up front what their beliefs are. That was a loaded question to begin with.

It was stupid to ask if we had moral codes.
Everyone has a moral code of some sort unless they're a deranged sociopath.
She said she'd been asked the question before - by a religious person no doubt - if she wants to phrase it in the same provocative way thats her problem.
**If she's an atheist why did she put 'you atheists'. It was phrased like an ignorant insult from an arrogant christian.**

It does not matter if they are Atheist or not. If an Atheist has made an incorrect statement or question it should be corrected. The correction should always show what was wrong, not just a blatant attack that proves nothing.

Because so many christians post questions like this that are meant to be snide and hurtful. Unfortunately, we can't keep track of what everyone believes, though even if we did all answers should be polite and respectful. I'm occasionally guilty of failing in that regard myself, but I've never claimed to be perfect and I doubt many other people on here do either.

I don't care, atheists are not a group like all Christians are.
How funny that is, none of the Christians read the question and started to call it as a proof of "..."

Defensiveness arises in a battlefield. Sometimes friendly fire occurs.
Did you notice that most of the responses were nothing like your description?

They didn't make it known that they were atheist. Therefore we assumed it was an attack on us.
