Tea actually is much healthier than coffee, as it has phenols and antioxidants that are released when one brews a cup of tea and drinks it hot. Black teas typically have some caffeine, but nominally less than coffee. Green teas have a bit less caffeine than black tea. Fruit teas and herbal teas typically do not have caffeine unless they blended with black tea (when I say black tea, I mean teas like Lipton, Tazo Awake, Twinning's English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Stash Chai, etc..).

All true tea (coming from the camellia sinensis plant) including black (fully oxidized), oolong (partially oxidized), green (unoxidized), and white (unoxidized tea plant buds) contains caffeine naturally. Like coffee it can be decaffinated but that process still leaves traces of caffeine. Also the amount of caffeine lessens on the black-white scale with white tea containing the least on average.
If you want a 100% caffeine free beverage look for caffeine free herbal "teas" (technically called tisanes) which contain no camellia sinensis and therefore rarely have any caffeine (there are exceptions like mate)

All teas made from tea leaves (white, green or black -- the different names are from the way that they process the tea) have caffeine unless they have decaffeinated it. Some herbal teas do not have caffeine. You will know because those without it tout it on the box. Just carefully look at the boxes.

The caffeine content of a tea bag brewed for five minutes is about 46 to 60 milligrams for a five ounce cup, according to the FDA. Compare that to coffee made from brewed grounds. The caffeine content is about 80 to 115 milligrams for a five ounce cup, depending on the amount of ground coffee added to a five ounce cup of water. So, tea contains about 52 percent of the caffeine found in coffee. If you make two cups from one bag, the total caffeine you get will probably closer to 60 milligrams.

Most tea is caffeinated. And if it's not, it usually says somewhere on the package or label.
