Serpent..you are incorrect, and seeing what books are avaiable on Amazon is NOT a way to get the correct answer.

Serpent, I do not care what you THINK. I am not saying this as if it is my opinion. This is a FACT. I think you need to deal with it. If you do not believe me, then look it up. All it will take you is a 30 second internet search.

Good luck changing the mind of close minded people... Makes me wonder if they have one of their own.

Really. How many total? Not have many authors, but how many copies?
Before I go into a topic that you really do not know anything about, maybe you can tell me what makes you think Napoleon has more or less books the Hitler?
For 3500 years, the bible has been read, studied, and taught to the next generation. Jesus accounts have been read for the last 2000 years. The bible has had more copies than any other book.
Moreover, Christian theology and philosophy starts with God and with Jesus teachings. So what percentage of books deal with God and/or with Jesus?
Answer: You are right. I don't believe you since you obviously cannot count. Moreover, Hitler has more books than Napoleon. If you don't believe me, show me your book count.
[I can not believe you would ask such a poorly researched question.]

Boy was I wrong about this: "Mohammad Ali had more books written about him. reasons: More publishers recently, More vanity publishers, Mohammad Ali for about 20 years was the most famous person in the World. (20 years in the modern world)"
Added: hours later
PS: I have spent the last hour or so researching this question, and I have found five different sites each claiming it's hero has had more books written about him than anyone else in History.
They are:
1.Mohammad Ali (my guess, which I now think is wrong)- one site listed 80 books
2.Abraham Lincoln - which claimed the most books about him
3.The Beattles - Which insisted that over 1000 books have been written about them.
4.Napoleon - claimed the most books
5. Jesus - they claimed the most books
PPS: I give up. I should have known that vested interests would hype their heroes and their products. Like the tobacco companies saying that cigarettes were healthy because they helped people lose weight.
I would write the Library of congress, except books are no longer required to be registered with them.

I do believe you are right Nicholas. I have been doing a bit of research (not quite a 30 second search, but that's okay) and at last estimate there have been over 300 000 books written about Napoleon.

Have you ever read a book about Napoleon? Be honest now. I haven't. No doubt there's heaps of them collecting dust on library shelves but I bet you a six-pack that if you got to Borders or Barnes & Noble you'll find more books about Jesus.
I am educated enough about Napoleon to know that he was a tyrant and a thug and a thief and a murderer and an all around scum bag even if he was a brilliant military commander.

Not true according to amazon.
I like your questions and answers usually but I think this is wrong.
It might have been correct 100 years ago but Napoleon isn't exactly as fashionable anymore whereas fundamentalism has taken off. How many books are published each year about Jesus? Lots - how many about Napoleon? Hm.
I think typing Jesus, Napoleon, Hitler, Darwin in to amazon.com gives a fair sampling of how many books there are on each.
Try it. Jesus wins.
I think it IS a good method - if you want to handcount 174,000 books about jesus then do the same for ones about Napoleon, good luck. If you're not willing to do the hand count you might bare in mind that you cant believe everything you hear on TV :P

And your point is? Why don't you list your references, and then we can check and believe you! So simple, and you won't be thought of as a liar any longer....which I don't think you are by the way.
But, you seem in some way to be insinuating that Napoleon is in some way superior to others, because he has been written about, and that would be baiting, now wouldn't it.

* they are counting all those books written by people in various churches which are not about Jesus at all but different doctrine beliefs. the History channel probalby does not count any books about jesus except the bible. Or the history channel may not think Jesus was a historical figure, they may consider him a myth. don't know this for sure, but it could be a possibility.*

Why do you not believe that NOONE CARES ? I'll bet the sales of the one book written about Jesus is more than ALL the books written about Napoleon.

I believed that Shakespeare was the most written about. Ah well, you were talking with the Christians, remember?
They thought that you were taking about the copies of the Bible, not original works, I think.
"...more than 100,000 books devoted to analysis of the man, his actions, his ideas and his life."
Wow, I think you are correct, he was a great man, a great general
His tactical skills are still being studied in most military academies, he lost 5 out of 40 battles,...

Do you believe everything you hear? How many bookstores out there selling only books about Napoleon? One? Anywhere? How many bookstores out there selling tons of books about some aspect or other of Christianity? Do the math and think.
