Add melted butter and mix.
Add I cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/3 cup flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt to the bole. Mix ingredients well.
Pour the batter into the pan & bake for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out almost clean.
Also, rice crispie treats are a lot of fun!
1/4 cup butter
1 (10 oz., about 40) pkg. regular marshmallows or 3 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and continue to stir until the marshmallows have completely melted. Remove from heat.
Stir in the Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal coating them well with the melted marshmallow mixture.
Using a buttered or silicone spatula, press the mixture evenly into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan which has been buttered or sprayed with non-stick spray or lined with wax paper.
Cut into squares when the mixture cools or use cookie cutters to make fun shapes & decorate with icing, sprinkles...be creative!*

What about Rocky Road ?
Mix chopped marshmallows / or those baby ones
toasted almonds
chopped jelly snakes
glace ginger if you like it
dried fruit/pawpaw pieces/cranberries/dried apple/apricots/mango etc
Make up at least a three quarters full bowl of this mix then melt a bar of your favourite chocolate over boiling water in a glass or metal bowl or microwave it and stir into the mix!
Tip onto a baking paper covered tray and refrigerate then chop into chunks when hard .
It's good with white chocolate ,mint choc, with extra coconut , basically only limited by your imagination !
YUM It's good for kids to make for Fathers Day or at Christmas... popular

what i would recommend is buying a bag of tollhouse semi-sweet morsels from any grocery store. normally on the back of the bag there is a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. the cookies are fun to make but if there are kids baking them, they may need help from an adult. also another idea would be to buy brownie mix which also has the recipe on the back.

Brownies are the best, from scratch as listed here or from a box is SUPER easy. Kids can choose to add m & m's or nuts or sprinkles to their own section of the pan before you put them in.
When I was new at baking, I started with years of brownie variations. Have fun!

Chocolate chip cookies are fun for all in addition to being easy. All bags of chips have recipes on the back, I like using Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips best.

by keeping a few items in the pantry at all times you can always throw a spectacular looking dessert with little effort, boxed brownie mix top w/ coolwhip or icecream, chocolate syrup nuts or spinkles, you can have many variations and kids love it. Also, pick up the pillsbury or betty crocker magazine cookbooks at the checkout stand, most recipies are easy, (bisquick ones are my favorites)

Chocolate Carmel Cake
1 box chocolate cake mix (ingredients to make)
1/2 12 oz jar Carmel ice cream topping
1 12 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 12 oz tub whipped topping
1 large toffee bar or candy to top
bake cake as directed on box. remove from oven and let cool. while cooling mix carmel topping and conensed milk and set aside. when cake is cool take something and poke holes in it. (fork, narrow handled spoon, dry spagettii)
pour carmel mix over top and let soak into cake. while you let that soak break toffe bar into little pieces. when carmel mix is soaked in frost cake with whipped topping and sprinkle toffee bar pieces over top.
I have used kissables, shaved chocolate bars, or hershey kisses or hugs, no nuts chopped fine, and a shaved chocolate bar with almonds is good to. just find out if anyone eating is allergic to nuts.

Here are some of my favorite desserts that are really simple and always turn out great-
The *BEST* chocolate brownies
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
(you can add in WHATEVER you want for this part, this is just what I ussually add..I have also used peanut butter chips and they turn out equally as good)
1 cup mini m&ms
1 cup mini marshmallows
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8 inch square pan or line with foil.
In a medium bowl combine melted butter and cocoa and stir until cocoa is dissolved.
Add sugar and mix well.
Add eggs one at a time and stir until well combined.
Stir in vanilla, flour and salt until you no longer see any flour (do not overmix).
Fold in m&ms and marshmallows (or whatever you decide to put)
Spread in pan and bake for 25 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting into squares.
This one is much easier...and doesn't require much work but they turn out really good!
Funfetti cookies
1 (18 1/4 ounce) package pillsbury plus funfetti cake mix
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1 can pillsbury pink vanilla funfetti frosting
Heat oven to 375.
In large bowl, combine cake mix, oil and eggs; stir by hand until thoroughly moistened.
Stir in decorator sprinkles from the cake mix.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten to 1/4 inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in flour.
Bake at 375 for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
Spread frosting over slightly warm cookies.
Immediately sprinkle each with decorator sprinkles from frosting.
Store in tightly covered container.
And lastly--simple but tasty snickerdoodles
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350°.
Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl.
Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a seperate bowl.
Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture.
Chill dough, and chill an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge.
Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons sugar, and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl.
Scoop 1 inch globs of dough into the sugar/ cinnamon mixture.
Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture.
Place on chilled ungreased cookie sheet, and bake 10 minutes.
Remove from pan immediatley.
