WitchCraft or Wicca. They aren't the same thing.

WitchCraft. Making my life better one Spell at a time.

Wicca: Too many people think it's "fluffy." Fluffy p!sses me off.

Witchcraft and Wicca are NOT necessarily the same thing. Witchcraft is a technique, like prayer; Wicca is one of the religions in which witchcraft is practiced. Most Wiccans are witches, but not all witches are Wiccans by a long shot.

Witchcraft 101 would go something like this, at least as I was taught: All things in the universe are interconnected by energy, which some witches (including Wiccans) perceive as Divine in nature. This is how witchcraft works: by focussing my intent, and using sympathetic correspondances (certain herbs for courage, for example), I can create an amulet using those herbs which will stimulate courage in the person who wears it. Similarly, by using a lock of hair from a person who is ill, I can (with their permission) set energies in motion that will help them to heal.

As a Wiccan, I operate by the Wiccan Rede: "If you harm none, do what you will". I also operate by the Law of Threefold Return: "Whatever you do, for good or ill, comes back upon you three times over." To me, this is one of the most important things to keep in mind about witchcraft: It is NOT a game, or a toy. It is a serious process of setting energies in motion, some of them quite large. And if you're not careful, the backlash can be very nasty.

Say, for example, you do a spell to get $2000 to pay a bill, but do not specify "with harm to none" or any other conditions. You might end up getting that $2000 dollars -- because you slipped on some ice, broke your arm, and are getting an insurance settlement worth $2000. Each spell has to be carefully thought out and prepared, and executed with focus, or else nothing at all is going to happen.

Witchcraft is not something you learn how to do overnight. It's a process of becoming attuned to yourself and the universe around you. One of the first lessons any Wiccan is taught is: "Know thyself." This isn't easy, and often it isn't pretty, but it IS necessary.

Um, well, first of all, Witchcraft doesn't equal Wicca. Wicca is a religion, where as Witchcraft is a practice. I know many Wiccans who don't use Witchcraft, and I know many witches who aren't Wiccan.

Secondly, I believe Witchcraft is a wonderful medium of spirituality.

When Christians over ran the Celtic and Nordic peoples they assimilated their knowledge and then developed a body of lies to discredit the older beliefs. Witch Craft is a combination of these mudslinging and remnants of the original beliefs. This was repeated in North and South America by invading Christians who obliterated the native peoples and pulled the same stunt as they did in Europe. The spells, and magic are from the Christians. Herbology, chemistry, acupuncture, astronomy, and geography were the core of what is now known as Witch Craft.

I think Wicca is one of the best religions around. They preach tolerance and karma, two things that make for fantastic people, as well as empowering women and celebrating life in all aspects. There is a reason it's lasted so long!

Enlightening. I think many people have misconceptions about it, but it is an empowering and peaceful religion. I believe that Wiccans should be allowed to have the same rights as everyone else, but many people disagree with me.

Here are some vids I have made on the subject.

I think too many practitioners limit their ability to work with ridiculous moralizing that has no place in ANY Euro-Pagan religious or magical system. Other than that they're alright.

It is a religion. As long as it is used for good, I don't have a problem with it. A spell should not be done for evil purposes, just as a Christian should not curse anyone.

I believe in witchcraft, but I think it is something you should be very careful with. It isn't something you want to use unwisely. If you're goiong to practice it, know what you're getting into.
