The son of perdition is Satan. Not a human being in the flesh. This is one of the many ways Christians have been mistaught about the identity and agenda of the anti-christ. Thinking he is a human being clouds their understanding of the purpose and methodology of that son of perdition spoken by Daniel.

Satan will stand in Jerusalem and claim to be Christ and will deceive the whole world. By worshiping Satan many will be throwing away their relationship to the True Christ. Christ will never leave us nor forsake us. But what can be said for those who forsake Him?

The Door to the wedding feast will be shut in their face. Christ will disown them. It is fortold.

the rumor is yes. Each period in history has shared its thoughts about the 'Antichrist." Some though Napoleon, others Hitler, and now some think it is G.W. Bush or Vladimir Putin. Other than that, it is open to interpretation. You should be more concerned about historical events leading to the emergence of the Antichrist. If the Dome on the Rock goes down for some reason and the construction of the third temple begins...start shaking because you know it is a matter of time before he makes his public appearance.

Who is the Antichrist?
Antichrist means against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.
Does the Bible refer to only one antichrist?
1 John 2:18: “Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.”
2 John 7: “Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.” (Notice that the “many antichrists” of 1 John 2:18 are here referred to collectively as “the antichrist.”)
Is the coming of the antichrist reserved for some future time?
1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)
1 John 2:18: “Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.” (By “last hour” John evidently meant the end of the apostolic period. The other apostles had died, and John himself was very old.)

the meaning of 666 is this:
in the year 666, Satan was given power over the world, and false teachings were spread.
666 years afterwards, (1332) he was again given power, and the black plague spread over the world
666 years after that (1998) he was again given power on the Earth. I'd say that yes something awful will soon come of that, and apostasy and hatred has spread, so many new diseases are showing up, and war and famine is everywhere.
