there is tons of things you can do to bond with your cockatiel one don't be afraid of your cockatiel the more you show fear and put her back in the cage when she bites your saying the her shes in charge BAD IDEA also try things like giving her a bath or playing with paper(my bird loves to chew on it) also just like chocolate is a comport food to humans some foods are comport food to birds like millet corn rice fruits also don't speak loud around your bird it could make her very nervous if she bites give her a tap on the heap and keep playing she she doesn't get what she wants (getting put back in the cage) i hope this helps!

I had a cockatiel before, sometimes they don't like different
men's fragrances and also ladies perfumes. I had to get
something from the pet store to use on my hands. It could
mean it was abused some. Try spoiling it with favorite snacks
and soft quiet music when you are gone. I t worked for me.
And use a recorder to play same for several days one word
at a time. when you come home say IT.

Put your hand in the cage give it some sunflower seeds and if it bites you then let it do so because that's how i trained my cockatiel and she got used to coming out of her cage yet sometimes she's so annoying.

i just got a cockatiel and he doesn't like my very much but what i let him do is come out of his cage by him self. he life to sit on the top of his cage and his wings aren't clipped so he flies around to room, if you let your bird know that your not there to hurt them and just talk to her, also try talking to her before you open the cage. Its a long hard process to get them to hand train but if you had her from when she was a baby it might be easier, mine was found in my friends back yard and i took him in and the first day i got him he just bit me like crazy and didn't bit anyone else. Just remember to be patent!!!

taming a cockatiel is a tedious process. its very hard to obtain there trust, persistence and consistency is the key. its harder to tame an older bird but not impassable.
