I have always watched what I eat and now I have been hungry ALL the time! I had a baby 3 months ago and at first I was losing weight pretty fast, but now I have gained 5 pounds in two weeks. Has anyone ever had this problem? I have a hypothyroid and am on medication for it and have talked with my doctor but she seems unconcerned because my weight hasn't gotten me into the obese range, but I would like to fix this before it does. Any suggestions other than stop eating? I am drinking alot of water, trying to eat veggies for snacks and keep with portion control for meals, but my stomach starts growling within an hour of eating and I feel famished....please help!!!!

When was your last fasting blood work? Excessive hunger is a symptom of diabetes. Talk to your doc about your last blood work and have it rechecked. If it isn't diabetes, continue to drink water, eat healthy snacks, like you're already doing, and instead of eating 3 meals a day just graze throughout the day. It small amounts, but eat 6-7 times a day. This will often satisfy your hunger without overloading you with a ton of calories at once. Good luck with this.

Eat protein first. That always helps me when I start wanting to eat like a crazy woman. (It happens to all of us) I get my protein in, and that keeps off the hunger for awhile.

you will get used to having less in your stomach. your body is over-metabolizing right now, due to hormone fluctuations.

try a glass of 2% milk to quiet your growling, and frozen grapes if you have a sweet tooth.

have a nice day.

Drink lots of water between bites and between meals. Carbonated water (flavored water) helps fill you up more.

Please, go to your dr.-get some blood tests done-CBC, blood glucose-to check on hypoglycemia/diabetes, etc. Please do this asap. Take care.
