I got into it with a chat user today and next thing i the person was sending me PM's that that said " i hope your kids get raped", I wanna meet your kids in a teen chat room without your supervision" etc. I'm afraid if i dont comply with his orders he may try track my kids down in person. should i let him chat with them in a teen chat room or what??

Do not comply or attempt communication with this person again. Report him/her to the chat room moderator.

Threats over the internet are common and hardly acted on. However, I think you still need to talk to a moderator of the chatroom etc. and see what you can do about this person.
Is the person somewhere close? Does th person resemble anyone you know or may have come across?
If so, then report to your police station and ask what you can do to make sure your kids are safe.
Otherwise, keep an extra sharp eye on your kids in the next few weeks until the threat subsides -- you'll still want to report something if you still feel insecure.

I sincerely hope this all works out for you

Report him to his internet provider and to the person who maintains the chat thing you were using. Next get off the computer and don't keep chatting with strange people. What kind of an example are you setting for your kids?

No, I believe that's complete stupidity if you're going to allow him to chat with your teens! Who knows what this guy will do.. and how do you know if he really can track your teens down! I say you stop talking to him and delete whatever account you have that allows you to talk with that user, and start a new one, AND not contact he/she anymore. Don't instantly trust someone on the internet, it's an unsafe world.

NO WAY!!! YOu, *** their parent, need to call the cops in your area ASAP! Don't delete these messages, save them, and let the cops get this person!! They have ways of getting to this person a lot better and quicker than you can. And please, keep in mind, that when you are on the internet, DON'T SHARE PERSONAL PRIVATE INFORMATION like about your kids-their ages, where they go to school, etc. The fact that you have asked this question-shows that if you were to be the type of parent to let this person "chat" with your kids-shows you have strong concerns--CALL THE COPS NOW!! PLEASE IT is not wise to let this person "chat" with your kids-this person has serious problems, please, again, call the cops! Take care.

I think you might be worring about his a little too much, I kniow that whenever I am in a situation where someone may potenially want to hurt me but it would be out of there way to do so it never happens. You could talk to your kids about safety, but thats all i think you could do. THe police couldn't do anything. Jackasses like this guy are too lazy to do anything usually, and he will just find another fight to pick with someone else after this. However if you've met him/her before and know that they are dangerous then you may want to confront them, but BRING OTHERS. In a week you will probably see that your fear was unfounded and you have nothing to worry about
