Typically speaking, yes you can. However, it depends on your school and the fraternity/sorority itself. My fraternity holds a rush in the fall and spring. Usually, the fall is for newly met people, and the spring is for people who wanted to sit out a semester to get a better feel for the rest of the school, or the friends of the people who joined in the fall who didnt give much thought to it before. Although our pledge classes had the tendency to be smaller in the spring, it was still the same experience.

However, you might want to check with the fraternity itself. Some schools only allow you to pledge during certain times of the year. Some fraternities get enough pledges in the fall, and might make you wait until the next fall to join. And in some cases, the school doesnt even allow a fall rush, and your only option is to join in the spring. Bottom line is, if the fraternity likes you, they'll keep you close and let you go through the process at the next available time.

Most university/college fraternities and sororities have their pledge activities during the fall semester. This doesn't mean you can't develop contacts while attending the spring/summer sessions.

My university lets you in the fall and spring..
i think it's a good idea to do both semesters that way some people can watch their course loads so they can be prepared because it's not an easy thing; especially my sorority.
