I have created a file using Microsoft paint. I want to save it to a floppy. I want to open it in Word2003. I have used .jpg and .gif and it won't open it. Is it possible to be able to save a graphics file to a floppy like this and if so how would I do it?

You cannot open a Paint file in Word.

Paint produces a picture, not editable text. The only way I know to use it in Word would be to click Insert, Picture, from file, and insert the gif or jpg into the Word document. From here you would use it as a graphic, wrap text around it, etc.

If the image is saved as a bmp it will not open in word 2003. You need to use a program like paint shop pro 9 or another image editor where you can change the attributes of the bmp to appear like a gif or jpg. You can save it to a floppy. You just can't save it as something its not and try to use it. Paint pictures tend to be larger files and so converting the image to something else to condense it is a good idea. This site www.tucows.com is a share ware site, it might have an image editor on it, if not another good one is picasa2 from google. Good Luck! Hope this helps some.

Try with a new floppy and format it first.
