It's also called bleachers. It's where people sit and often it is built like scaffolding with open sections beneath where people can trip and fall and then fall below the grandstand to the ground. These areas are so dangerous that most insurance companies will not cover liability for this type of seating and you must buy a rider on your insurance if you want to be covered.
