Go to the below link, and download two free programs....one is called "Audacity" which is a terrific open source program, and the other is called "LAME mp3 encoder". Download and install both and with Audacity you'll be able to open your .wav file into the program, and then click on "File" on top and choose "Export as MP3" It works very well.
