Chihuahuas are naturally aggressive but it be worked out of them as far as I know. Our shelter puts them down because they are as bad to bite as a pit bull. My daughter has one and she is very old and almost blind but will attack any of my grand daughter's friends. And don't laugh at her when she does it as it makes them worse. My granddaughter thinks itls funny and run through the house with the dog right behind her trying to bite her. My grand jumps up on the bar between the kitchen and dining room with that dog going crazy to get to her. She only like me, my daughter and sometimes the SIL. but not always. She kind of like my other grand when she is in the mood. They get the idea that they are the leader of the pack and they are a dangerous weapon. My daughter is a horse whisperer but loves dogs and they get babied too much. I can train any dog with love, a crate and a short leash. With that method, they come to realize they are not in charge, the person on the other end of the short lilst is the boss.Keeping them on a short leash so that you will notice if they start to make a pp. or a poo. Take them out. After a couple of weeks of this, they come around.I've never met a dog I couldn't potty train. At night if you don't want to be leashed put her in the crate. To a dog a crate is a cave and dogs love them. If she pp's in the crate rub her nose in it . If she is good, be sure to praise her. Also hold her on the short leash and in your arms when someone she doesn't like comes in. Hold her with her mouth tight and have the visitor rub and pet her. The main thing is consistancy. . You'll be surprised at how fast you will see an improvement. You actually have to train the human to get out of that dog what they want. Blessings Gayla

Well, I don't think it is necessarily going to suck, I think it's going to be worse than suck. So worse, there is no word to describe how awful this movie is going to be. Even though I will at least watch it, I may be one of the loving families that will have to prepare for the oncoming demand of homes for these poor little guys. I do know that we are certainly going to see an increase in demand of Chihuahua's. Then, more and more will end up in shelter's and rescues everywhere. It's a sad sad truth. I'm just glad that we have people that will love them and take care of them for the rest of their lives after stupid idiots get done getting popular and then bored with them. And we are going to see more and more Chihuahua's being dressed up and babied (not that that's bad, I baby talk to Jasmine because it's something positive), but the way they are going to do it is making them human, and not dog.

I suggest that you join the yahoo group called agbeh and read their past posts and files on training. You could try to leave a leash on without a handle, so it doesn't get caught on anything. Let it drag around. Use it to get the dog to move off the bed. Call the dog first with a cheerful voice. Then, if there is no response, use the lease to get the dog to come. Give it a bit of yummy food and pick him up. He should have a place of his own where he can go to be left alone, though.

ha, i have 2 chihuahuas' one actually just died and he is the same way. if you go near him while he is eating, chewing on a bone, or in his bed he will always go after you. Thats just how they are nothing you can do. Luckily they are small dogs and their bites dont really hurt unless they get a hold ofyou good!

Search for Cesar Millan the dog whisperer. His website has a lot of information on how to deal with unrully dogs. I watch him on TV and he helps many people with dog problems, and trains the dog's owners too.

Have you tried a personal trainer? How about training classes to help socialize him?
