Lots of people your age are scared of growing up and fear that they aren't good enough or they are messing up somehow, and even that they should believe without a doubt that everything they've learned about god an jesus is right- and they berate themselves when they have doubts.

You are having a lot of unfounded fears - the likelyhood that you will die any time soon is very low.

We all fear things when younger that we can look back on and find silly - do you remember anything you know is not real now that you seriously feared when you were younger? Do you laugh about it now?

Go talk to your priest about this - he knows you are not the first - nor the last -to have doubts. Likely he had the exact same ones as you do.

You're gonna get through all this. Don't worry.

Death is a part of life. If you spend your entire life fearing it, how can you truly live. As for God and beliefs, I don't know what is out there. What I believe, is that if there is a god, he (she, or whatever you believe) is all forgiving. Any god that wants me to be a believer, can not be a vengeful god. The Catholic religion tells you one thing then tells you the opposite. What I do know about death is, your body (or pieces of it) live on in different forms. Your body decomposes and fertilizes flowers that feed bugs that feed birds etc. (I plan on being buried in a pine box) My father was born again and always tried to cram his beliefs down my throat. It doesn't work. My wife's father will not accept either one of us because we are not his religion. You can't look to other people for your beliefs, they can only help guide you. You need to look deep into yourself. The whole God, Heaven and Devil, Hell thing is a good concept, but you won't know for sure until your time is up. If you really want answers, go to churches of different religions and ask to talk to the Priest or Rabbi or whatever they may have. They are people like us, and they will help you. I personally am not a very religious person. I do live a pretty good life, just in case. Sorry for the rambling, but I hope this helps.

Anyone who is honest with them self and actually takes time to think about their life has these feeling from time to time. When I have these sorts of feeling it gives me a chance to think things through and come to a decision as to what I believe in this time and place in my life and what I can do to make my life worth living from this point on. And then the next time, it is a time to reevaluate and reflect on my life and where I am going. It may not feel good, but it is really a good thing. It helps us to live life fully and with purpose. Lent is coming, maybe you want to get back into the habit of going to Mass and for Lent read some books of a spiritual nature. You might try "No Man is an Island" by Thomas Merton. or some other book that will help you sort out your spiritual life. I wish you well.

ok first how old are you? and how much do you believe in Christ? cause like I'm catholic and in middle school, but i don't pray, or participate in anything in my Church, but am i still a good person? why be scared when you know that you've done nothing really that's wrong, you're growing up and leaning, and God knows this and when you grow and get closer to Him He'll lead you to home with Him, but till then, just live your life to the fullest and don't worry about death! but as for the death thing, when you die and get buried, you don't know that, cause your dead and what difference does it make? people in the world learn to move on with or without you, but don't go kill your self, but just remember that if you do die God takes sinners, lovers, and murders! you just have to believe that he can do all

Almost everyone feels the same way you are feeling. It's perfectly normal and a good sign!

"i barely pray " - Prayer is communication with God. It doesn't always have to be an "Our Father" or "Glory Be." While those prayers are good, there are different types of prayer. There is formal prayer (like the Our Father) there is informal prayer (just talking to God in your thoughts - even if it is just telling him your frustrations or praying in pictures, there is prayer through actions (i.e. helping someone in need) You can pray pretty much any time any place... it doesn't just have to be at night kneeling at your bedside.
Also, you wouldn't try to run a marathon if you had only run up to one mile before. You SLOWLY build up to it. We hear the Saints' stories and think, "Oh, I could NEVER be like them." However, I hardly think any of them started out by doing Vespers and Holy Hours on a daily basis. ;-)
It's almost Lent. Why not make your Lented sacrifice to pray to God for 3 minutes each day, or 3 times - 1 minute each, a day? Saint Therese of the Little Flower is famous for that. She called it "her little way" She tried to love God more through doing small things. And, as Mother Theresa of Calcutta said, "We cannot do great things, only small things with great Love."

" i dont pay attention or participate in mass" - Everyone's mind wanders. It's very normal. God does not expect us to be perfect. He understands our human nature better than we do... even our wandering minds (especially when the priest has a really boring homily ;-). What is important is that we try to stay focused, and when we realise that we have wandered, trying to come back and focus. Just by being in God's presence at Mass we are receiving Graces and that is most important.

"im scared to grow up i just dont want to" - What is it that you are afraid of? Is it failure? Pain and Sickness? the Uknown? a combination of many things? Identifying the cause is the first step... And secondly, what you are feeling is VERY normal.

"i dont want to and how u only get one life and im scared that there isnt a heaven" - the Beauty of Christ is that there is forgiveness and redemption. You are young, and even if you were old, every day is a new day to start fresh. It would be very frustrating if we had two lives... imagine having to struggle through everything twice! ;-)

I heard a person's account (past down) one time of a woman who was "on the wrong path" and then turned back to God. One day she thought she heard God's voice and asked her priest about it in confession. She wanted to know if the voice was coming from God or from the Devil. Her priest advised her to ask the voice what was the last thing she confessed. The next time she heard the voice she asked "what was the last thing I confessed to the priest?" The voice replied, "I forgot."
God forgets our sins when we have confessed. It even says this in the Bible.

Confession is one of the greatest gifts God gave us, yet it's the one we fear the most. My suggestion - find a good priest and confess regularly. Most of us worry that the priest will judge us, especially if our sins are "bad." On the contrary, one time a priest said to me that they rejoice at hearing even the worst sin and have an utmost respect for that person who confesses a great sin because that person has a desire to be holy. The priest represents Christ - and Christ rejoices when we desire to be close to Him. A good priest will not judge you and will give you advice in the confessional. And priests are human too. They go through the same temptations we do and understand human nature. They understand how hard it is for people and how easy it is to sin. They can also help you answer some of these questions.... :-)

"i know ppl have said there is and they were there and came back to life but im just scared that there isnt and when your dead your dead"

Take with a grain of salt some of these stories. These are people's accounts of what happened. And, here's food for thought... "if there is nothing after death, and you lead a good life, than what have you lost?"

" am also getting confirmed in soon and feel like i should believe in everything god/jesus has told us"

Confirmation is a wonderful time for learning. Take this opportunity to have a one on one meeting with a priest or nun (preferably one who has a strong background in theology and philosophy) who can help you in spiritual guidance. You will find one at almost every Catholic church, and they are more than willing to help... plus, it's free! Write down a list of questions and ask away. You can also see a Spiritual councelor on a regular basis.

I hope I have helped a little. If you ever want to talk, feel free to reply and I will give you my email.

Don't worry about things. There is a Jesus and there is a Heaven and start praying to the Blessed Mother and she'll help you. If you are a Catholic in good standing then you don't die. You just change from the current being to another.

Where you afraid to be born? Come on we all are born and we all die.. That is life but if you would look a little deeper into your fear you would find that it may be your religious upbringing... Death is nothing but a step into something more wonderful than you could ever imagine... Go find the basics of what Jesus taught not what the Catholics taught! Don't worry die happy...

It is dying chica...dying lol. Are you scared of English class as well? ha ha just playing. This is the problem with religion...especially Islam, Christianity, and Catholicism. They tend to scare the hell out kids with that hell and damnation ranting. In turn, kids think they're going to hell if they don't follow their religious doctrine to an exact "T." Don't be afraid of death accept that it is inevitable and come to terms with that. Most of all you shouldn't take the Bible literally. The Bible was written with all that colorful language to convert the masses. You'll be all right...think for yourself and don't let any one tell you how to interpret the Bible.

Well, you are having a hard time because you of what you believe. God is bringing difficult things into your life because He wants you to become one of His followers and go to Heaven when you die. You need to become a Christian. I'm sorry to say that you must give up your religion, but that's the way it has to be if you want to be with Jesus instead of burning in Hell. I used to be very afraid to die because I didn't have the Lord with me yet. Goodness knows you are truly committed to Him. If you believe in God and His glory, you'll want to die so that you can go up to be with Him. My grandfather was a Catholic and he was afraid of dieing. He died his death afraid and away from God and I think that he went to Hell. Just so you know, most people think that the Devil will be in Hell torturing you, but it's not like that. The Devil is a spirit, and is here on Earth being invisible to all people. I hope that you except Christ as you Savior. God bless you.
