I searched on the internet for "instant approval credit cards" and found a site with a menu of cards/ rates/ etc. i clicked on the card I wanted and was directed to the card site/ application. i then applied. it seemed legitimate.

Re-apply, perhaps it did not get transmitted. If there is no sign of anything on your credit report, you should be fine. Just monitor your report for a few months.

Is this a legitimate credit card company that you went to their site directly or clicked from an e-mail link.

If you clicked from an e-mail link(or another site) most likely it is a case of "phishing" and you could be a victim of identity theft. I would file a police report and contact each of the credit agencies and put a watch on them.

If you are sure you typed in the valid address it might be a case of it just not getting processed. On your credit report check under the inquiry section. This would be the first indication of any one looking to get credit under your name.

If you remember the site - go to it and find "contact us" for a tel number - call them to see how long they take to submit info to card company.

They are just "brokers" to sell other companies credit cards - I would assume that most of the take a week or so to get the application over - if it has been more than this - don;t worry - just try to get contact with them

Well, you could apply again if you still want the card.

As long as they have no record of you, and there's nothing on your credit report about a card from them, it sounds like your application just got lost somewhere.

Call all three credit bureaus and have them flag you account. Anytime you social is used for up to 6 months afterward you will be called.

Also, file a police report. There is no crime committed yet, but in the future, is someone tries to do it, there will be a record that you filed a complaint. It will help clear up any damage with Experian/TransSouth/Equifax they may have done.

Also, go to http://www.consumeraction.gov/caw_credit_reports_scores.shtml.
