You didn't really list what symptoms you're having, and as mono can vary from person to person, I'm going to have make assumptions as to your symptoms.
I've had a "phantom disease" for a while now (predominately severe fatigue and muscle fatiguing), and for a year back a few years ago. I finally got it diagnosed as Chronic (or reactivated) Epstein Barr Virus. All of my advice here is based on my own dealings with many doctors and what they tested me for. :) I'd suggest getting your EBV titers (pronounced ty-ters) checked. Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) is the virus that causes mono, but more than 70% of people have it unknowingly, with maybe only 20% or so ever getting mono or any symptoms. After getting EBV, it lies dormant in the body, just like the virus that causes chickenpox. It can reactivate and cause symptoms later on (although it is unusual), just as the virus that causes chickenpox can crop up later as shingles. Anyhow, they generally test for mono with a "monospot," whereas the EBV titers check how the immune system is responding to EBV (Monospot can be negative, while the immune system can be going haywire trying to fight off this virus, which in and of itself can cause symptoms like fever, fatigue, headaches).
Also see if they've tested you for thyroid function, adrenal gland function, strep throat (although strep shouldn't last 11 weeks), and Lyme Disease.
And lastly, check out www.wrongdiagnosis.com and look up your symptoms to find alternate conditions that often get diagnosed as womething else.
Wishing you much good health, and soon! :)

The mono-like symptoms plus the headaches sounds like you could have Strep Throat. Strep, untreated, can turn to much worse illnesses. Did the doctor do a throat culture?
If you seem to be improving, you are very lucky. 11 weeks is a long time to go on with these symptoms. I know that every winter in Arizona I get sick for about 1 to 2 months. I think it is something in the air--as this did not happen in New York, Las Vegas, Idaho, or anywhere else I have lived or visited. I notice that I get ill after being out on very windy days--I'd guess the wind is blowing some sort of allergen.

Well, I don't know what a 'mono' is in books sorry? I really like the design though, its very very cool:) But it is quite horizontal, if its for the cover or similar part of the book it probably won't fit correctly since they almost always use a vertical layout?

My best advice is to eat or drink lots of citrus fruit. Liminoids in citrus fruits are being studied as anti-viral products. We already know that vitamin C and other good qualities in these fruits help boost the immune system. Some viruses can be long lasting. It may seem frustrating, but try doing very light exercise, like walking. A sauna may help. You'd have to try it and see.
