I HAD SEVEN WEEKS OF DAILY RADIATION FOLLOWING A LUMPECTOMY FOR BREAST CANCER. I EXPERIENCED THE EQUIVALENT OF A MILD SUNBURN AND USED ALOE VERA GEL ON THE AREA. ASIDE FROM FEELING TIRED AT THE TIME, I DID NOT SUFFER ANY NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS.
I'M JUST THANKFUL MY CANCER WAS DETECTED EARLY THROUGH A ROUTINE MAMMOGRAM.

I went through total body irradiation for a bone marrow transpl;ant. Instead of focusing the radiation to a certain area, your entire body receives the radiation. I was very fatigued, nauseated. I experienced little burning though. It will be a good idea for pts to keep some aloe vera on hand, and some ppl even get treated in the burn unit(I guess it depends on your dosage).

Less hair under my armpit after radiation for breast cancer and no "peach fuzz" on the breast, but not other problems. My girlfriend has permanent scarring, but it's more cosmetic and better than being dead..
