You find a purse containing 8000 dollars. The purse also has a visiting card wherein the name of the owner of purse has been given. You go to his house and hand him over the purse. The person is very pleased and draws a note of 1000 dollars from purse and asks you to accept it for your honesty.

I would do as any natural human being would instinctively do - want the money. Seriously, it's 1000 dollars.
I would say, "Oh no, really, that's okay." Because I would feel bad that they only have 7000 left.
Then if they insisted, I'd say, "Ok, if you're sure." And then I'd take it, and look for more purses!

I would have given the money back, taken the note because it's nice to be rewarded for doing somthing good, and walked calmly away. And once out of site jump around in excitment cause I'd be happy.

It's not mine to take, just like the purse & it's contents were not mine to take. Draw it up as your good deed for the day and move on. I wouldn't take it, even if it was offered. What goes around, comes around. I will be rewarded somhow later for it.

i would graciously decline the offer of money, because i believe that my reward would be in heaven.

HE has a purse??? With THAT kind of money in it? AND he isn't worried about $1,000? The money probally isn't legal in the first place. It was likely drug money or atleast stolen. I wouldn't take it, but it's your life. Good luck!

I really would have returned the purse, and I wouldn't have expected anything more than a thank you. But if he offered, I would be suprised, and take it.

Yes I would return it. I think honesty should be rewarded, I'm not sure if it warrents that big of a reward or not. I'm not sure what drawing a note is. I thought that was a loan. I'd rather have a cash reward. :-))))

I would take it, because they are really thankful. But, on the other hand, I would feel it's not necessary. I would be flabbergasted if they offered me that much. Maybe I would accept less, I'm not really sure. Good question.
