I think I want to move there. Tell me ANYTHING about that you can think of. (besides the obvious, Purdue, corn fields, etc.)

BONUS QUESTIONS: THIS IS FOR THE REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE RESIDENTS ONLY: have you heard of Country View Estates on Northchester? If so whats it like?

Thanks everyone!!!

I recommend avoiding living near either of the Tate & Lyle (aka Staley's) factories as they produce horrendous odours. This would generally mean the north side and the southeast area past the Tippecanoe Mall. Where you are thinking, which is on the southwest side, is a safe distance.

Z96 is OK in my opinion, but I prefer the Rocket (95.3 MHz). Then again, I prefer classic rock over the modern stuff.

For tradition in terms of dining, Arni's is the place to go, specifically the one in Market Square. Closer to Purdue on the west side, there's Bruno's in the Levee area.

Consider some of the local annual events. There's the Taste of Tippecanoe in downtown in the summer, Fiddler's Gathering in nearby Battle Ground, and Feast of the Hunter's Moon in the early fall out at Fort Ouiatenon.

If you have a bicycle, bring it along as some really nice trails have been lain in recent years. Many of the local parks in both cities and out in the county are rather nice. For hiking, try the Wabash Heritage Trail and the trails around Prophet's Rock. However, I recommend waiting a bit on Prophetstown State Park as they're still building the place up.

Well, I'm getting married there on the Reihle Plaza Bridge in September. Other than the smell (in the areas stated in the last answer) it can be quite a beautiful place...especially in the fall. Happy Hollow Park is a great place for families to spend summer days, the Columbian Park Zoo is cute and now has a water park, but I've not been there (I'm currently living in England, but will return to Indiana soon).

It's got a few theaters...Wabash is the best though. J&L records is great to find all those really weird and old albums you never thought you'd see again.

Personally, there are times when I'm in certain parts of Lafayette when I think " I could live here." and then there are times I think "There's no way in hell I'd live here."

It all comes down to what you're looking for and your top priorities. Do you have a family? What kind of job(s) are you looking for? What kind of schools do you want for your children, etc...

There are some good restaurants, some good churches, some good stores, and it's close to Indianapolis. And if you're looking to buy a new car...it's definately not lacking for car dealerships.

Z96 Radio Rocks! Triple X has the best biscuits and gravy in the area. And I live in Thailand.
