I was reading this interesting Buddhist book and basically it was telling me to not depend on any scripture, not even Buddhist ones. It was basically telling me to write my own scripture and search on my own. They say that most prophets had no sources in the old days so they had to climb the tree starting from the bottom and then reach the top. The book was saying that people of most religions today depend on others findings rather than searching on their own. They said it was like trying to climb a tree while starting at the top. How do you climb the tree of wisdom?

To climb the tree of Wisdom, you start from where you are.

Peace be with you.

that's deep. I would think it would be hard to go from the top down without first climbing to the top. If you were placed on top, you've missed the experience of getting there and that is part of the lesson. You must first climb the tree before you can climb down. Once you've completed this goal, you're ready for the next tree. It's a big forest down there...and I do not recommend using a chainsaw on any of them.

Good question.

I think you must be open to the field of all possibility before true spiritual learning and understanding can begin. So I agree with the idea that the only way for a new discovery to take place, be it spiritual or in any other realm, is if you are committed to do the work yourself and not rely on the crutch of previous ideas that might not "sing to your soul."

Good luck on your journey!
