Yes it is illegal if the music does not have a licence to be legally downloaded and most off limewire dont so yeah.
Legal downloads cost about 99 cents per song well at itunes it does the price vary's from the provider.

I asked that same question...downloading free limewire music is illegal...apparently a bunch of people still do it...but I think it's better not to

Isn't Limewire a sharing community or something? I don't think downloading media from there is illegal... My cousin downloads songs to his Ipod with Limewire. I guess sharing media isn't certainly illegal, but then again, you might want to have second thoughts before downloading media from there... Pick your path!

Yes. Here's a solution. Set aside two funds. One load of money for the people that perform the song and produce the music, the other for the people who write the song. Paypal the money over to them or what ever. Bypass the record companies and the whole retail merry go round.
