If you are moving a washer, you need to drain the pump so it doesn't freeze and break. Take the hose off of the back, and tip the machine back at about a 45 degree angle, then spin the pump for a few seconds. For a long trip, they say it is good to block the agitator so it can't bang around like it is out of balance. Then just roll it on a 2 wheel dolly. I liked to load washers with the back of the washer against the side wall of the truck.

the best way would be to rent a dolly. But we moved one with 2 guys, 2 girls, lifted it ourselves. But wouldn't advise it.
