I made a powerpoint slideshow with music in the background (MP3s) for my daughter's 18th birthday, but now I want to copy it a CD to show on our Big Screen TV.
How can I do this, I tried the CD package option in Powerpoint 2003 but it won't take the MP3 files.

It works fine for me in my test run. What I would do is manually burn the mp3 file onto the disc. (Right click on it, select "send to" and click your CD-RW drive). You are simply doing what the Package option failed to do.

If that doesn't work (although it should), you have another option - change the embed limit in PowerPoint. There's a user defined maximum for how big an audio file can be in order for it to be internally embedded in the PowerPoint (.ppt) file - versus just being linked as a separate mp3 file altogether. It's a neat little option.

To do this... go to Tools -> Options

Look for "Link sounds with file size greater than..."

This number needs to be as big or bigger than the size of your mp3 file. As I don't know this information, I'd type in "10000KB" to be on the safe side.

You might need to re-add the file within the slide show in order for it to officially become embedded.

Total Audio Converter is by far the best audio converter program. Link --> http://bitly.com/1sW2w9k
It's amazing.

Convert the MP3 file into WAV and see if your player will play that.
