Okay, I have been working out at ballys for a while now, and though I see myself losing weight its not as quickly as I'd like... for example I only lost 20 lbs in 4 months. I am eating MUCH better than I used to - but I was wondering if there is any really good diet plan anyone out there has that would increase my weight loss...

My problem is, I dont know what to make that is healthy. If I had a regimend to follow, I may be able to succeed better... Any suggestions?

Congratulations on losing 20 pounds! That's a real accomplishment.

Carb cutting works for me, (no sugar, starches, breads, pastas; ie: either South Beach Diet or Atkins) but I understand that that's not an option for everyone. You may want to eat more meals per day, but smaller proportions to keep your metabolism rolling.

Also, if you're not already doing this, you may want to add weight training to your workout routine. The leg work especially fires up the metabolism.

Chrissie,

While your progress is slow, it IS progress and you should be proud of that!

Stick with your current eating, but make the following minor adjustments (NO diets)...you didn't say what your workout routine is or what you are currently eating, so I am going to make a lot of assumptions:

Make water your primary drink...cut out the sodas (regular and diet), juices and lattes.

Snack on fruits. To make it interesting, buy some fruits you have never tasted before from the market. I bought a Grapple today after I left the gym!

Instead of bread, use tortillas for sandwiches.

Instead of salad dressing, use fresh herbs or Penzeys seasonings (www.Penzeys.com).

Increase something on your workouts at Ballys:

If you use the treadmill, increase the incline by 0.5;
If you use the weight machines, increase the weights to the next level;
If you take Step, add a step;
If you use free weights, go up a pound or 4 reps.

Make sure you increase something every 4-6 weeks.

Keep up the good work!

I think you should eat even less. Eating healthy doesn't necessary mean that you are eating less calories.
