It seems that the same rhetoric is constantly repeated in regards to religion (mainly theism vs. atheism). Are we doomed to continually answer the same questions rephrased again and again? Is the discuss between atheists and theists moving forward?

Yes, we are. There are always newcomers to this sight. There are also the ignorant that resist education.

The thing we debate doesn't change. It's constant. Science surely hasn't swayed the argument except for a few dogmatic Atheist espousing their beliefs. So the only thing left is name calling. Neither side can be persuaded one way or the other. Except maybe a few people here and there. Maybe I'm a little too pessimistic.

Every generation has to learn the principles of their worldview so some Q's will never cease as far as time exists. But as society moves along, some of the Q's and controversies change. But God will end it all one day and everyone will know the truth!

No, because it is impossible to prove either wrong. ie God does/does not exist. You either believe or you do not. Some people seem to be using this forum to try and convert others rather than answer/ask questions. People should be able to express their views without vehement recriminations or put downs.

People here tend to have completely irreconcilable points of view. Rationality versus superstition. They're just here to shout at each other, like me.

as long as there are people who refuse to open their minds and at the very least accept that other people have other beliefs and that doesn't make them wrong just different, no this conversation will never get anywhere.
