You are right., sadly. I don't think political leadership is about the people anymore. It is more an ego trip for control freaks and grandstanding on the world stage like some sick actor: "Look at me I'm in charge!"

The greatest benefit offered by the Constitution is "choice". People have the right to choose how they will live their lives and with who.
The restrictions on "Choice" are only those that are harmful to individuals and to the country.
Everyone has the right to make a choice of any of the many legal occupations and ways of life and by applying skill and labor, enjoying the fruits of that choice.

I was telling a Mexican friend of mine about the corruption in American politics and he just laughed. He said it's nothing compared to the corruption in Mexico. There will always be corruption everywhere. The key is to minimize it. America can do better, but it's still better than most places. The American dream is still alive, even for honest people. They're just harder to find than most.
