I am 23 and I am seeing this guy who is 28. He has been married. He actually married his HS sweetheart. He has been divorced for almost 5 years now. So, should I continue to date him. Is there more to the story of why the marriage didn't work out. How can I ask him about the reason for the divorce without being too nosey?

Well 5 years is a long time so it should be ok... He'll probably tell you when he's ready.

Just because someone is divorced is no reason what so ever not to date them.. There are plenty of wonderful divorced men out there who are not to blame for there marriage break ups. Go ahead and ask him. If he has nothing to hide he will be more than happy to fill you in. Then when all said and done you can move on with your relationship.

sure you should date him, the divorce rate is over 50% these days, its such an easy out for people that everyone is quick to jump on the divorce bandwagon, just because someone is divorced doesnt make that individual the bad party, my wife had an affair behind my back for 2 years and i couldnt forgive that although she begged so i divorced her, this means that i have morals, i never cheated, does this make me bad?? you shouldnt base your relationships on if the person has ever been married if you do you will be choosing from a very limited pool

If you like him then see how it goes, if it stays good start checking out what happened from his perspective. I feel that it takes two to make or break a marriage........but that doesn't mean that the problems she had with him would be a problem for you. I know that although they are good guys I could never stand being married to some of my friends husband's and I'm sure some of them feel the same way about me.

Ask him why. There is no reason why you should turn someone down because they are divorced without knowing the reason. Its not fair to label and gash scars on people like that. How would you feel if you got dumped and were labeled with a scar called a divorce that made everyone not interested in you?

sure why not date him? Nothing wrong with dating a man who has been divorced. Not like he has an infectious disease. LOL... as far as asking him about why his marriage didnt last-- Do you know any other people who are divorced? Maybe you can tell him that you were talking about their divorce and wanted to know why his marriage didnt work out???? Nothing wrong with being direct

yes you should continue to date him if you like being with him. and there probably is more than you know why his marriage didn't work out. how long have you been going out with him? how deeply committed are you to one another. if you are just dating briefly then let it go; he may tell you eventually. if you are in a committed relationship you should feel comfortable enough to ask him.
