when I was in, you could have it as long as you wanted provided that it was pinned up in a way that did not interfere with the wearing of head gear, (french braided worked best) or had it cut where the longest lenth was above the lower edge of the collar.

We found it was just easier to keep it cut. when it was pinned up, you could get in trouble if any part came loose.

chance are their going to cut it when you go to boot camp and if your hair is that long I would go and find a salon that dose locks for love and you'll now it's going to someone who has cancer and can use it so it's not just on the floor and into the trash because your going to have to have cut up to shoulder length.

Four feet of hair is a LOT of hair.
I'm sure you'd have to cut at least three quarters of it off.

As long as you can put it up somehow and still wear headgear....l know a girl that had hair down to her butt and was able to put it up in a bun.

only the navy makes its female recruits cut their hair. however, in boot camp, you won't have much time to yourself, or to do your hair, and, as I know it, you shower at night. it'd be easier if you cut it.

Well, hair that long is *so* out of style. I would cut it regardless of if you have to or not.
