Well it depends on how much you want to get out of the relationship, and how far you want it to go. I have a friend who's been together with his girlfriend for 2 years. He lives in Virginia, and she lives in California. They've met only twice. I could never do that, but somehow they can!

This one is difficult to answer just because it depends on you and your partner. If there is communication and trust, and each one of youns are willing to travel the distance to spend quality time with each other whenever possible, then there is a chance it will last. There also has to be that spark that just won't let go from either one of you that makes it harder to say goodbye when the other has to return home.
If there isn't any communication or trust, then it won't last. It has to be your call.
