I am aware of the controversy, however I like this kind of dog, not for breeding or showing just for my family and I to enjoy.

Silver? There are black, yellow and chocolate Labradors

There is no such variety as the Silver in Labradors. There is only the Chocolate, Yellow, and Black.
If you buy a dog from a breeder which claims they have Silvers, you will probably NOT be getting a purebred Labrador.
This new trend has breeders mixing their Black Labs to Weimeraners, creating a Labrador with lanky legs and a silverish coat.

People are always looking for new ways to scam money out of the ignorant.
Labs are fine with the colors they are.

There are no Silver Labrador breeders in the UK, because there is no such thing as a silver labrador. Plenty of people out there are selling silver-coloured labrador crosses and calling them Labradors, but I won't give them any publicity by posting their details here. If you want one that badly, go find the info for yourself, and if you are genuinely attracted to Labradors as a breed (as you claim), then you can either buy a yellow, chocolate or black puppy from a registered breeder; or offer a home to one of the dozens that can be found at your local rescue centres.

There is no such thing as a silver Lab. This is a complete hoax. There are only 3 colors of Labs, chooclate, black, and yellow. The color silver is simply a dilute chocolate color and doesn't happen too often, usually caused either by breeding with another dog or breeding a chocolate and a yellow Lab together. Check the AKC site, you'll see.

Cannot breed for silver color, but I have seen what they call a silver color. Is very pretty and unusual. Have seen a platinum lab also. Almost white but not quite. Look up some breeders in Dog World magazine. Some breeders have produced more of these colors than others. Make sure they are a reliable breeder. Go and see the parent dogs. Don't give up. Be patient and you will find an unusual color.

I checked through Dogs In Canada and couldn't find a single breeder of silver labs in either Ontario or Quebec.
I did however find one in California and one in Texas.
Looks like you're going to have to take a trip (which would be my choice) to get one or arrange for shipping (which is a bit much on the old trust meter for acquiring a puppy).
I hope you know that most breeders don't consider the silver to be a true silver but rather a poor color of chocolate. The AKC and CKC put no stipulation as to color on Labrador Retrievers.

What an interesting color for a dog.
From reading every-ones answers seems that they didn't read the article about the controversy involved in the colors.
I know your looking for a breeder in Ontario or Quebec, since this is such a rare coloring why don't you contact this breeder they are in Wisconsin they may be able to guide you to breeders that are close to you....the price of these dogs are expensive...I wish you all the best and here is the web site of the breeder I just mentioned.

They're is no such thing as a silver lab. This is just a myth that has gone around. It's just a dull chocolate color that shows up in litters sometimes or it can happen when you breed a yellow and chocolate lab. It is very rare to happen and I doubt you'll get one, but if you still want a lab check your local newspaper thats where I got mine.

A couple of puppy farms have brought some to cross breed with but they are poor specimens and don't look like labs. Have you seen them in the flesh? Like Weimeraners some don't look that impressive when the coat changes. They can be very blotchy. They are not purebred but the Weim outcross is a long way back and no good breeder will breed them. No reputable UK breeder exists.
