Myopia (nearsightedness) - the light rays focus at a point in front of the retina. You are able to read a book immediately in front of you but unable to read far objects.

far-sighted is when you can see far but can't see clearly up close like when reading a book. Most people who are farsighted have to wear reading glasses. Short-sighted is when you cant see objects that are far away

It meansthat you are able to see things close to you but not far away. If you wear glasses, you might even read better without them.

Ya I am nearsighted. I see perfectly close, but the farther I have to look, the blurrier it gets.

nearsighted means you can see better close up.
