I'm 105 lbs and sick of all the rude remarks people make about my weight. Whenever you hear something about size 0, everybody acts disgusted. Normal girls can wear size 0's, not just 6 ft tall models. I find it hard to gain weight and am confused by the insensitivity people show. I'm sick of hearing how unattractive skinny is, and reading things like 'looks like 12 year old boys' and 'stick insects'. Is it really genuinely unattractive or are people just jerks?

amber j, don't feel that way at all, sorry if it came across like that. The situation with overweight people is really no different then underweight. It just seems like people find it even more acceptable to bash skinny people because its not that common of a problem

I have the same problem. I weigh between 105 and 110 lbs. I've actually TRIED to gain weight before. I think it's because we have really fast metabolisms, like, i have a huge appetite...i can eat 20 hamburgers and not gain an ounce (k maybe i'm exaggerating) but you get the idea. I've gone on "diets" before just to force myself to not eat so much in front of other people, because i sometimes come across as a pig. I'm like, "i'm sorry if i go through food this fast." i mean, i'm ALWAYS hungry. I was so happy when i finally started fitting in the juniors sizes, so that i could stop shopping in the little girl's stores.
As for other people who say things like that to you, they really are just jealous. Everyone's always trying to lose weight and be skinnier, and they're just jealous because it's so easy for us. Dont feel bad, because it's not your fault, and it's not a bad thing in the first place. If they want to get all worked up about it, that's their problem. So let them be as jealous as they want, just dont let it bother you. We shouldnt have to fatten up just so they feel better about themselves. Being skinny isnt unattractive, maybe if you're like SOOOO anarexic that you're just skin and bone, but no, i think being healthily skinny looks great. So come on...Skinny Pride!

I know how you feel. People have told me that they thought I was anorexic but the truth is I can't gain weight. Don't get me wrong, some people are way too skinny and they don't look good but some people who are short are a size 0 and they look just fine. Some of the people that say all that awful stuff are probably fat so they are jealous that you are thin and they're not. Just ignore those people and if they say something to you just say I don't have an eating disorder and talk about something else.

Oh, dear do I know what you're going through! I'm 20 and I've only reached 100 pounds once in my lifetime (I wanted to throw a party in celebration!). I get totally pissed when people make rude remarks about my weight. I've had a lady tell me that I need to go home and eat and one even had the nerve to ask "How much do you eat?"
WTF! These people TOTALLY piss me off. Yes people are just jerks. Here's what you do. Go online and look up information on anorexia and bulima. Learn all you can about it. The next time someone makes that kind of remark give them a peice of your mind. Let them know that you are WAY more educated then they are with your knowledge on these two mental dieseases. They'll realize what a jerk they are being and next time they'll probably keep their mouth shut with their next victim.
Here's a site for just to get you started: http://www.helpguide.org/mental/anorexia_signs_symptoms_causes_treatment.htm
In the end you'll win the argument and TOTALLY embarass the hell out of these jerks.
One last peice of advice: If it happens at work don't be too harsh on them. It could cost you your job. That's where I get most of these remarks from and it's hard to keep from freaking on them.
Good Luck

My opinion is to skinny is not attractive. And yes people are cruel but i bet you ave made remarks about how other people look. Fat people have been getting it for years, supose it takes some of the focus off them.
Average has became more acceptable which i feel is better as there is less presure on people to feel the need to make themselves un healthy. If you find it hard to put on weight and you sport a healthy diet eating normally then I very much doubt you are down to skin and bone and are prob fine :)

honey everyone has their own taste if u know what i mean, some men like there woman to be skinny, other man like some curves with a nice butt, and some men prefer some meat. everyone has there one definition of whats beautiful, i am 5'7 and i range from 115 to 120, so i am very toned or skinny too, and i love my body and cant picture myself even 10 pounds bigger. I look the best at my weight and i am happy with it so u should be with yours too, I am very naturally like this and do not starve or deprive myself from anything i just cant put on weight either. anyway i am sure most people are just jealous.

No, it can be really cute. Don't listen to them, there are always going to be negative and rude people who will have something bad to say about everybody. Just be glad you are skinny instead of obese. And you're lucky because you have a lot more options of clothes you can wear. Overweight people are stuck with loose baggy clothes. You can wear cute little half tops and short shorts and look adorable. Just ignore rude people. It's their own issue, has nothing really to do with you.

People are just jerks. You will grow into yourself. Maybe you can try putting on muscle. Like working out with weights or something. You seem to have a good metabolism, probably why you can't gain weight. No reason why you shouldn't be able to gain muscle.

Weird because alot of girls WANT to become skinny. Anyway.. They're just jerks, too many jerks in the world. People you can't trust these days, they always worry about what's wrong with people and never what's right.

I feel your pain honey. I'm 5'6" and 116#. Everyone says I'm either anorexic or bulimic and they always recommend food I should eat to gain weight. According to my Dr, I'm one of his healthiest patients and tells me not to worry about it. When people make fun of me for being thin I always say, "Would rather have me be 300#?" They always say no, so I tell them to shut up. It took me awhile to accept being skinny, but I would rather be this thin then huge.
I've also learned to poke fun at myself by saying things like, I'm a human stick figure, I'm the human version of Olive Oil, etc. If others see you poking fun at yourself first then they usually won't say anything except you're too hard on yourself.

That's funny because I'm 6'1 and weigh 170 so I'm tall and slim ( skinny) but it cracks me up that the same people that make fun of my body shape are the same people that have been on every kind of diet there is. People are jealous and if they can't have what you have or look the way you look then they hate on you for it.
